Cadet 9 (6 – 9 years)
The purpose of this class is to teach young people to drive karts of restricted performance at a limited cost. Competitors use a Vortex Mini Rok, Comer S80 engine with a clutch or a Yamaha KT100J fitted with a restrictor plate. Approx. Power – 8hp
Cadet 12 (10 – 12 years)
Using the same principal of the Cadet 9 class, Cadet 12’s primarily use a Vortex Mini Rok engine. Approx. Power – 8hp
KA4 Junior (12 – 16 years)
With two weight divisions this class allows close competitive racing in karts with reliable engines Restricted KA100 or Yamaha KT100J engines teach the basics of racecraft at a low cost. Approx. Power – 11hp
KA3 Junior (13 – 16 years)
This class is for juniors making the step up from the KA4 class, for more experienced drivers using an unrestricted KA100 engine Approx. Power – 16hp
KA3 Senior
Utilises a KA100 engine or at club level a Yamaha Kt100S is still eligible.
This class offers relatively low cost, yet fast and competitive racing. The KA3 Senior class, as with all ‘controlled’ classes, uses a single brand and compound tyre, with wet weather tyres also an option for inclement conditions. Approx. Power – 16hp
4SS Senior (Four Stroke Sprint)
The 4SS class is designed specifically for the entry-level and mature age competitors. The engines used in this class are low cost, low maintenance Torini Clubmax 210 and Briggs & Stratton 206 four-strokes on karts fitted with a hard compound tyre.

TAG Restricted 125 (Victorian Combined)
This class allows less experienced drivers to race electric start, water cooled engine Karts at restricted performance. This class is not eligible for State Championships or National Championships. Various engine types can be used with a restrictor plate fitted to the 125 cc engine.
TAG 125
The TAG classes cater for push button or key start engines such as the Rotax MAX, IAEME, Vortex and PRD Galaxy engines. The engines used in these classes are watercooled and are fitted with a clutch. These classes represent the step between KA3 racing and Open Performance competition. Approx. Power – 24 – 28hp
Open Performance
This class caters for high performance karts with Rotax DD2, KA1, and KZ2 engines.
