Practice Rules

Practice is a great opportunity to get to learn our track, tune your kart and improve your driving. All practice must be in accordance with the AWKC Practice Policy:

AWKC Practice Policy – Updated April 2023

All drivers must register for Social Karting Activity via portal.karting.net.au & Team App, for everyday they attend for practice. This information must be available for the Social Karting Activity Official to sight along with KA licence in your licence portal on your phone or laptop.
All practice must be held under the control of a minimum Grade 5 Karting Activity Controller (KAC) or any Grade official. If you are not a KAC or in the company of an official, you cannot enter to practice.

The KAC or Official must submit an application in KOMP for Social Karting with times they will be at the track for approval so it can be listed on KOMP for others to enter and attend. Ideally this should be submitted by Wednesday evening to allow for approval.

All drivers must be able to show the KAC their confirmation of entry to the social karting session via KOMP this is a ticket seen in the top right corner of the event calendar or on the dashboard. You will need a phone or laptop with you to show this to the KAC/Official. This can be found in either the app or on KOMP website.

Practice is restricted between the hours of 9.00am and 5.30pm on any day unless the track is closed for club or other events. All drivers must have current KA licence and comply with all KA rules especially in relation to types of karts used and safety apparel.

Race direction will always be clockwise using the full track as delineated by tyre barriers. No short cuts or cut throughs to be used. Alternate track configurations may only be used the day before an event where this alternate track configuration will be used.

Practice should be limited to 10-minute sessions for each group (i.e., Cadets or Juniors or Seniors)
Mechanical breakdown area may be used during this 10-minute session. It is forbidden to stop on the track for any mechanical adjustments, refueling or driver instruction.

AWKC Non-Members
A $50.00 per day per driver practice fee will apply to non AWKC members. This will not apply if practice is listed on the supplementary regulations for the day/event. If you have pre-entered an upcoming club day or Golden Power Series event at the track, practice fees will not apply.
